I’ve had several parents ask me if it’s okay to have portraits taken by someone other than the school’s photographer.  YES!  Most likely you’ll need to be photographed by the school to have your yearbook photo taken, however you do not have to have all of your portraits done by them, and with me, it's so much more fresh and fun, and you can actually be yourself!

My oh My!

I got an email last week from an old client!  When I read her name, I had to rub my eyes for a double take to assure myself that that's who I thought it was! Yep, it was!  The last time I heard from this family was 3 years ago!  I photographed little Miss Taylor's 1 year photos, and her older brother back in 2006.  I was amazed at how much they have changed and grown up! Mom wanted her 4 year birthday photos and of course requested the cupcake scene! When I asked what date Taylor's birthday was, I was once again reminded that we share the same birthday!  Pretty cool!

I'd like to share how she looked 3 years ago with her little birthday cake! Taylor was always a little shy, and still is....but she is just as beautiful as can be!

Somebody else has grown up a lot too!  Her older brother Brendon!  Looking back at this photo just makes me smile....What a handsome boy he is turning out to be!  (He was a great helper too today!)  He is in training to be a gentleman!  ;)  We can never have too many of those hanging around!!! :)

Baby Alexis turns 9 months!

Alexis' parents,  my return clients who have also referred many clients to me in the past (Thank you.) called me to photograph Alexis at her 9 month milestone! I never had the chance to photograph Alexis as a newborn, although her parents would have been thrilled but they did not know about me!  I have photographed Alexis at 3 months, 6 months and now 9 months! I cannot wait to photograph her first year birthday session!

It's amazing how much they change in a year, but more so of how much they change every three months! Amazing!

Hope you all had a beautiful and memorable Mothers Day!

This photo would be of the 2 dozen beautiful red roses my honey and children picked out for me.... (So sweet). 

I wasn't expecting anything since my children are so small and don't realize that Mother's Day exists, but my sweet fiance' who waited on me hand and foot yesterday made it happen! (He even changed diapers & took complete control of the kids!)  I was treated to a spa pedicure/manicure, a massage and a delicious tri-tip dinner and a bomb dessert!  I think this was the best Mothers Day I have had in 6 years!!!!

Abbey gets glasses!

We were all getting a little worried as Abbey, my almost 4 year old daughter was sitting an inch from the TV, constantly asking what obvious things were, as in "what is that?", sitting an inch in front of her dinner plate, tripping over anything and everything that crosses her path (including her own two feet) and lastly, running into walls, signs, people etc.....  My Fiance swore that she could not see.  We were all so frustrated with everything, and poor little Abbey had a lot more to be frustrated about!  I guess I was in denial!  So....We took her in for an eye examination and sure enough, she cannot, and I mean CANNOT see.  She wears a +7 in prescription.  If you are unfamiliar with that means, it basically means she's pretty much blind and has VERY THICK lenses.  She has been wearing them for awhile and we have seen a huge improvement already, even in her motor skills!!!!  I have photographed her in the past and was comparing photos.  I realized something.....she has never looked directly into the camera, so I thought I'd give her new eyes a run for their money with the camera!  Again, a huge improvement!  It's amazing that such a little correction can make such a huge difference in a person, even in their personality! 

You have to admit, she is ADORABLE, and she is mine!!!  :)

She's even a much happier child!  :)

New member of "our" family!

Isn't she cute??  We don't have a name for her yet, but everyone has been calling her "Baby". I think it's going to stick!! The kids are OBSESSED!!!  Hopefully this poor kitten will survive the toddler torture!

New Look!

Some of you may visit my website frequently and may notice that I have changed my splash page.

I needed something fresh,  I was tired of the same ole' boring 4 image links lined up! Not to mention, I crave a little bit of individuality, which it seems lately that a lot of photographers have the same splash page layout! So don't worry, all the links are the same, they are just aligned a little bit different!

Also, my blog will be getting a new look soon as well as my myspace!!  Can't wait!  :)

My baby is turning two!

Just wanted to show off his cute little invitation that I made!

New affordable book!

Can be designed by myself as a Family book, maternity/newborn book, baby book, wedding book or just plain "whatever" book!  In this case I made a "wedding book".  I am really pleased with the outcome!  Another job well done!  For all of the brides I have recently booked, this book was not priced in your brochures or on your contracts.  If you are interested in adding one of these books to your contract, contact me for pricing.  Oh...they make great parent books and are much more affordable than the regular flush mounted albums.

I have sold a few of these bags in the past, but this particular bag is just incredible!  As you can see, I have obviously taken the photos on the bag and designed the print layout. I haven't purchased one for myself, but I think it's finally time. (WAY BETTER THAN A LOUIS VUITTON)  These bags come in many different shapes, sizes, colors etc.  Get one today!!!!

Custom frames and matting to go with your beautiful prints!

I've never offered frames in the past, but last week one of my past clients called me with frustration.  She couldn't find frames and matting that was affordable!  She was getting quotes for $900- $1100 dollars for a 16X20, a 11X14 and 3 5X5's!  Seems a little outrageous to me!  I beat that price by MORE THAN HALF!!! No joke!  I found an awesome framing company that provides the best customer service, frames, matting and more! The frames were shipped out to me within 5 days of ordering!  Needless to say, my client was very happy and thrilled to finally decorate her house with the beautiful artwork I have provided.

BUSY BUSY BUSY!

All I can say is wow!!  Other than being in a bad car accident 4 weeks ago (not my fault of course, I was T-boned) and 5 days later got my car out of the shop with $7,000.00 worth of repairs, YES, you read that right. (Thank goodness for insurance!) and was hit AGAIN a second time!  So...my luck hasn't been so great on the road!  And I'm in a great deal of pain which totally stinks! (YIKES!!!)

But other than that, my huge handful of new and old clients have been keeping me busy and on my toes, and this is why I have been neglecting my blog, but I'm catching up slowly but surely...

Spring Swing Annual Father Daughter Dance at Jacque's Dance Expressions in Yuba City, CA. 

I was lucky enough to be hired as a permanent photographer for this annual event!  I can thank my wonderful fiance Sean for helping me with the set and of course Janice from the studio for providing all of the beautiful greenery from her yard!  I ended up photographing about 50 father daughter couples, and the moms have just gone crazy over these photos! 

  And Jacque, thank you for having me, I had a wonderful time and I look forward to future events!

Another little guy!  My fiance talked me into using the Spring Swing prop tree branch for one of my hanging newborn shots!  I can't thank him enough for being so supportive of my career!  I am very thrilled with how it turned out! (Thanks Honey! I owe you and Love, Love, LOVE you!) Yep! He reads my blogs!  :)

Beautiful Sisters...

I don't know what I enjoyed more....photographing them or watching them bond.  Such a beautiful scene.  It reminds me of my childhood with my sister.  Ahhh, the memories!

Longtime best friends reach a milestone!

When they emailed me, I couldn't help but laugh when they said they needed "milestone" pictures!  here I am thinking, "Oh, it's a 1 yr old".  But they are 29 years past the big "1"!  They are the BIG 30!

And other than some commercial photography work I have done for Yuba Sutter Auto Body shop which has not been completed and a labor and birth I photographed, which is a bit personal for the blog, that about wraps it up!  Now I need to really catch up on my work and get that car back in the shop!

4 yr old model...."Marley"

It's not everyday I get to update a little models portfolio, which I am kind of biased towards in my career!

Meet little "Marley".  Her name says it all....."Cuteness!" She had Sass from the first set, and quite the personality to go with!  These are just a few select images, but I just can't post all of them, just a few that caught my eye!  I am sure her agent and mother will have a "hay-day" going through all of them!  Well Marley, I must wish you luck in your modeling journey, I think your going to do well, so keep workin' that camera girl! ;)

Recently, I made some changes to my website.   The main change is that I removed all of my pricing information.  Why is my pricing no longer on my website?  A few reasons, but the main reason is that I want people to hire me based on my work.  I don’t want the cost to be the deciding factor.  It’s important for people to know that my photography is art.  It’s the most important piece of artwork you’ll ever purchase for yourself or your family.   I know for a fact that you can find a cheaper photographer.  I think we all know there are portrait studios in the malls, in department stores and many photographers who are just starting out and charging next to nothing.  I’ve been in the business for 6 years now (a photographer for 11 years) and I am able to stand behind my work and work with my clients to make sure they are completely happy.  I have evaluated my pricing structure and have adjusted it to be sure I am not making below minimum wage!  I’ve taken into consideration the amount of time I put into each session:  pre-session consultations, scheduling, driving, editing, correspondence, ordering, packaging, delivering.   My print prices reflect all of this.  It’s not a secret for anyone to know how much a 4 x 6 print costs to print at Costco or wherever…  around $.13.  I don’t print at Costco, I print at a professional lab, but the reason my prices are higher than regular prints isn’t because of where I print them, it’s because  I am offering a custom service with my photography skills.  You are purchasing art, you are purchasing memories that will be passed on forever, you are purchasing my knowledge and continued learning of photography, you are purchasing my trained eye.

Another expecting mom!

I am getting non stop calls and emails for pregnant moms!  I can't complain....these 'mothers to be' are just gorgeous!

This beautiful couple is expecting their first child, a girl in just 3 weeks!  Mom was a little nervous at first, but warmed up to my camera and I after the first pose!  She looks amazing!  And dad, you were an awesome helper! Thank you!!!!

4 months to go...

This beautiful mom of 3, soon to be of 4 traveled all the way from Stockton!  She is only 5 months pregnant with a little girl, but was just too excited to wait after doting on my maternity portfolio! She will be back when she is further along with her other children!

 

Beautiful couple expecting their first...a little girl.

This beautiful couple, who I was honored to photograph allowed me to come out to their beautiful home and photograph this beautiful moment in their lives. They are expecting a little girl in 2 weeks or less.... :)  It appears that her baby has dropped, so I am betting it will be sooner than 2 weeks!

My favorite...Flower cap and tutu!  This little cutie I have photographed before when she was just an infant.  She's now 8 months trying real hard to sit up on her own. These babies grow so fast!
